2015 Clos du Caillou Chateauneuf-du-Pape Les Quartz Reviews
Suggested Retail Price $100.00
96 Points Wine Spectator
This is tightly coiled, with intense raspberry and cherry reduction notes waiting to unwind, but held in check for now by myriad licorice, iron, rooibos tea and singed alder details. Shows terrific cut and tension through the finish, revealing a blaze of minerality. Just needs some time to harmonize fully.
94 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
A blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah, the 2015 Clos du Caillou Chateauneuf du Pape Les Quartz is plump and juicy—highly appealing for its bright berries and crisp acids. Yet it’s also rich and concentrated, with velvety tannins that linger on the finish.
94 Points James Suckling
Very attractive dark plum and blackberry fruit on the nose. Old vine grenache is working powerful and commanding style into this wine. The palate has sweeping tannins that carve deep channels of red fruit flavor. Warm finish.

Suggested Retail Price $165.00
A blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Mourvedre.
97 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Amazingly perfumed and floral, the 2015 Clos du Caillou Chateauneuf du Pape La Reserve is a striking wine, drawn from the sandy lieux-dits of La Guigasse and Pignan. The blend of 55% Grenache and 45% Mourvèdre yields plenty of refined cherry and stone fruit elements, silky tannins and great elegance on the long finish. It’s not the biggest kid on the block, just one of the best looking. What a pretty wine!

A total stunner, with a long, pure beam of raspberry and red currant coulis streaming through, flanked by light violet, iron and incense notes before picking up lilting rooibos tea and rose petal accents on the finish. The fruit never fades, and there’s perfectly embedded acidity weaving everything together. A dreamy wine.
95 Points James Suckling
Just over half grenache, the balance is mourvèdre. This delivers spicy, brash and assertive dark berries, as well as pepper and dark stony aromas. The palate exudes creeping, dark plum-flavored fruit. Long tannins. Best from 2022.
94 Points Decanter
55% Grenache, 45% Mourvedre. Seductive rose, close and cedar spice. Full but not heavy. Very fine tannins and bright raspberry acidity. Like a still lake – smoke on the water. A polished, pure and potent modern expression.
