Aromas of blueberries, blackberries, chocolate and hazelnuts follow through to a full body, round and velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Tight and focused right now. Needs three or four years to soften.

95 Points Vinous

The 2016 Orma is laced with the essence of black cherry, smoke, licorice, spice and dark chocolate. Medium in body and persistent, with striking poise, Orma is absolutely gorgeous in 2016. All the elements simply fall into place effortlessly. Deceptively in its mid-weight feel, the 2016 offers striking persistence and tons of class.

91 Points Wine Enthusiast

This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc boasts aromas of underbrush, ripe dark berry and tobacco. The concentrated, full-bodied palate delivers blackberry jam, cedar and espresso alongside chewy, fine-grained tannins.

2015 Orma Toscano Rosso IGT Reviews

98 Points James Suckling

Plenty of ripe blackberry and incense. Opens up beautifully in the glass. So perfumed. Full body and seamless tannins that coat your palate with a silky texture. Wonderfully framed with complex fruit.

94 Points Robert Parkers Wine Advocate

The 2015 Orma is absolutely rich in intensity and thick in extract. The sunny 2015 vintage is all about exuberance and gosh you do get that here. This is a viscerally exciting wine with a large load of dark fruit, blackberry and crème de cassis. Those fruity tones segue to spice, leather, tobacco and barbecue smoke. Roasted espresso bean and dusty chocolate appear on the full-bodied finish. This is a complete, rich and nicely extracted red wine from the Tuscan Coast. The blend is 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc.

The 2014 Orma is a powerful, tightly wound wine. Although the 2014 doesn’t have the radiance or immediacy of the 2015, it has plenty to offer, especially once it comes together a bit more in bottle. Beams of tannin give the 2014 its insistent, nervous personality. But beneath that, the flavors are remarkably pure. Savory herb, espresso, tobacco and menthol start to open up with time in the glass. The 2014 could turn out to be a real jewel of a wine if it softens in time.

92 Points Robert Parker’s  Wine Advocate

The 2014 Orma is a Tuscan blend of Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc executed with evident inspiration from Bordeaux. The wine shows a deep, dark appearance with rich consistency and a full-bodied approach. The bouquet delivers the power and integrity that you can expect of this celebrated Tuscan blend, although the mouthfeel does not show the same level of extraction or power. This is a good thing, in my opinion, as the 2014 vintage offers a level of understated elegance that you don’t usually get from a wine of this more international and contemporary approach.

2013 Orma Toscano Rosso IGT Reviews

98 Points James Suckling

Aromas of blackberries, burnt oranges, licorice and spices follow through to a full body, super-integrated and fine tannins plus a fabulous depth of fruit and an impressive center palate. This is a great wine.

94 Points Wine Spectator

Shows fine depth and concentrated fruit, evoking cherry, blackberry, spice and earth. Fleshy, structured and fresh.

93 Points Vinous

Dark red cherry, plum, mocha, espresso, licorice and smoke are pushed front and center in the 2013 Orma. A super-expressive, Merlot-based Maremma, the Orma is showing beautifully today. With time in the glass, the wine gains creaminess and amplitude. This is a terrific example of the style of wine the Tuscan coast does so well.

91 Points Wine Enthusiast

A blend of 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc, this offers aromas of ripe black currant, tilled earth and tobacco. The full-bodied palate doles out black cherry, cedar and mocha alongside ample velvety tannins.

2012 Orma Toscano Rosso IGT Reviews

96 Points James Suckling

Lots of blackcurrants and blackberry aromas and flavors with hints of bark and mushrooms. Full-bodied, chewy and rich. A powerful red with plenty of structure and depth.

94 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Showing exceptional density and thickness, the 2012 Orma is a monumental red wine from Tuscany. The blend is 50% Merlot with Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc in supporting roles. Compared to the 2011 vintage, this edition of Orma shows tighter tannins and a longer aging potential. In fact, the wine presents itself as very young and tight at this moment. It is at the beginning of its evolution. If you love juicy, thick reds from Tuscany with dark fruit nuances, spice and chocolate, this wine is for you.

92 Points Vinous

The 2012 Orma is plump, juicy and quite expressive today. Blackberry jam, mocha, sweet spices and licorice are all woven together in a wine that typifies the textural resonance and plushness that make the wines of Maremma so appealing. Open and radiant, the 2012 will drink well upon release. Hints of sweet tobacco, licorice and herbs add the final shades of nuance.

90 Points Wine Spectator

Rich black cherry, plum, earth and tobacco flavors are wrapped in dense tannins in this red, which shows ample sweetness midpalate, with a fresh, crisp long finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

2011 Orma Toscano Rosso IGT Reviews

97 Points James Suckling

A gorgeous, sleek wine with super-polished tannins and fabulous fruit. It’s full but so refined and sexy. It goes on for minutes. Really fine. What a wine. This Bordeaux blend from here is the best ever.

93 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

The 2011 Orma (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc) is a fantastic wine that excels on all levels. It shows integrity, intensity and generosity at impressively high levels. This was a warm vintage but the wine still offers an impeccable sense of balance and profound inner beauty. Morello cherry, dried blackberry, leather, tobacco and spice enter the equation. Orma delivers soft tannins and a lingering sense of richness and density.

92 Points Wine Enthusiast

This full-bodied blend of 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc offers aromas of ripe black-skinned fruit, crushed Mediterranean herbs, scorched earth and tobacco. The dense palate doles out black cherries, red currants, cedar, anise and mocha alongside ample, velvety tannins.

Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri

2010 Orma Toscano Rosso IGT Reviews

96 Points James Suckling

There is something so subtle and rich here with chocolate, red chilies and ripe plums on the nose. Full body, with velvety tannins and a juicy finish. This is so delicious now but better in 2017. Best ever from here.

92 Points Wine Enthusiast

This bold blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc leads with aromas of ripe plums, graphite and a hint of coffee and balsamic herbs. The soft, concentrated palate delivers ripe black berries, chocolate and mocha. A licorice finish arrives alongside velvety tannins and the warmth of evident alcohol. It’s delicious but fast approaching its ideal drinking window.
