Super fresh and vibrant nose with grapefruit, melon and cut grass. The juicy palate balances out slightly tropical citrus with very fresh acidity. Despite that firm acid this is perfectly ripe too. It’s not meant to be a complex wine, but the definition – without harshness – is spot on. Yes.

This is a dignified Sauvignon Blanc that continuously reveals itself as you move from the bouquet through to the aftertaste of the palate. Initially it has classic restraint, but by the time you pick up the sweet fruit (not sugar) you realise it’s the product of a vintage designed for Sauvignon Blanc.

From high elevation vineyards, where yields are kept down and the grapes are hand-picked. This features crisply-scented lemon and bell pepper aromas with a hint of apricot. It’s really well balanced in the mouth, the succulent but saline citrus fruit backed up by richer hints of stone fruit and tangerine, alongside a layer of wafting herbs. Very elegant.

Gooseberries, fig and melon notes show the ripe side of the 2017 Sauvignon Blanc. No, it doesn’t come across as herbal or green, yet this crisp white remains light to medium-bodied, lively and fresh. It’s a delightful combination that more Sauvignon Blancs should aspire to.

Key lime, lemon and ruby grapefruit flavors have an appealing edge of sea salt minerality and a touch of celery leaf in a complete, harmonious, savory and lip-smacking package.

Martin Shaw and his cousin, Michael Hill-Smith, MW, consistently produce one of Australia’s top Sauvignons, a crunchy green wine with passion fruit and lime blossom flavors and grapefruit-like acidity.

Vivid and grassy up front, with plenty of punch to the passion fruit and lime flavors. Intense on the long, juicy finish.

Intensely scented of freshly chopped herbs, lemon juice, green apples and elderflower with a grassy undercurrent, the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc fills the palate with herb and citrus laced flavors and tons of freshness, finishing with great length.

In line with the winery style, this is lean and tight on the palate, a bit of a citrus laser blending lime and grapefruit. Try it with raw seafood dishes, like a fluke carpaccio or ceviche.
