Jean Marc Brocard Chablis

2017 Brocard Sainte Claire Chablis Reviews

Suggested Retail Price $22.00

90 Points James Suckling

Some very ripe peaches and mangoes, as well as light aromas of honeysuckle. The palate has a succulent, juicy core of fleshy mangoes and nectarines. Neat and energetic. Drink-now style.

2017 Brocard Sainte Claire Chablis Vieilles Vignes Reviews

Suggested Retail Price $30.00

90 Points Vinous

The 2017 Chablis Sainte Claire Vieilles Vignes, which comes from almost 60-year old vines, has greater precision and mineral expression than the regular bottling. The palate is very tense from the start, taut and linear, an almost Zen-like Chablis with a precise and quite persistent finish. Like the regular cuvée, I would give this a year in bottle.

90 Points Wine Spectator

Floral, apple, peach and smoky notes define this lively white. Balanced, picking up a touch of wet stone on the lingering aftertaste. Drink now through 2023.

90 Points Wine Enthusiast Editors’ Choice

Named after the church next door to the producer’s winery, this wine comes from 70-year-old vines. It has depth, richness and good concentration. Made from organically grown grapes, the wine is bright with yellow fruits and citrus.

2017 Brocard Vau de Vey Premier Cru Chablis Reviews

Suggested Retail Price $38.00

93 Points Vinous

The 2017 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru is a little more reticent on the nose compared to the other Premier Crus at the moment. The palate is well balanced with blackcurrant leaf and a touch of spice on the entry, a fine bead of acidity with a poised, and quite energetic finish, a tang of white pepper that lingers on the aftertaste. Very fine, but it will need two or three years in bottle.

92 Points Wine Enthusiast

The east-facing vineyard gives cool wines with layers of intense acidity that contrast with the honey flavors of this wine. The two elements give a rich wine but one with plenty of freshness as well as spice. Drink from 2021.

90 Points Wine Spectator

This is fleshy, wrapping a lush texture around apple, lemon cake and stone flavors. Intense and long, this needs time to find balance. Drink now through 2024.
